Hamilton Fails to see Rosberg Advantage

Lewis Hamilton has hit back at suggestions Mercedes teammate, Nico Rosberg, is a harder worker and deeper thinker, qualities some sports betting fans believe in 2014.

The technical regulations for F1 this year focus on fuel management and the possibility of increased tyre wear, which could play into Rosberg’s hands.

There have been encouraging signs for the Mercedes team in testing, where they have outperformed their rivals. Rosberg and Hamilton set the two fastest times by some distance during the second pre-season test in Bahrain.

Both drivers will be looking to wrestle the world title from Sebastian Vettel’s grasp; although, to do that, they will need a significant improvement on 2013, when Hamilton finished fourth and Rosberg sixth in their first season as teammates.

The early attention has been on Rosberg, which appears to have riled Hamilton. “It’s strange in this sport. Last year at some races Nico might have spent half an hour to an hour longer than I did with the engineers, but I’d usually cover the same amount,” the 29-year-old told F1 Racing.

“He just took longer to cover it. Because he stayed an extra hour, people said: ‘Oh, he’s working harder’.”

While Rosberg won two races to Hamilton’s one last year, F1 betting fans compared to three for Rosberg.

Hamilton admitted it is difficult getting the better of a teammate when he is receiving the same information.  “With the amount of data that’s available from both cars there’s no advantage you can keep,” he added.

“You have to just try to stay one step ahead because you know that information is going straight to your team-mate. And vice versa, of course.”
